Officially Official

Hello, my loves! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Mine was certainly busy and eventful.

Sunday was filled with running errands. I took our recyclables to the drop off center (I'd let it go for about a month due to the weather, so there was a LOT), I got groceries and associated beauty needs at the store, I got to gas up my new car for the first time (despite only getting it a week ago, I've already put 350 miles on it), and finished taking down and putting away the last of our Christmas decorations.

But let's be honest. You all came here for one main thing having to do with my weekend: my latest date with Aerith.

Or should I say...MY GIRLFRIEND!!!

😁😁😁

Okay, first things first: I'll go over the date itself.

So, leading up to it, I was super nervous. I was definitely taking my Wellbutrin as intended on Friday and Saturday. I knew I wanted to ask her where things stood with us. As you can imagine, I was nervous about the answer.

I was going to paint my nails again but I ran short on time. Friday night and Saturday morning was spent shaving down practically my entire body. I'd let my legs go for a few weeks, so it took a little extra work. I'm sure I'll strike a good balance at some point. I also ran out of my shaving cream with cocoa butter and had to go buy more the next day.

For my outfit, I went with layers and (in my opinion) my two best colors: red and black. I had my black mesh top underneath a really nice faded dark red short sleeved top, my black leggings underneath my red and black plaid skirt, my high top sneakers, one of my red and black styled bracelets, my basic choker, my mood necklace, and topped it off with my favorite red and black wig. I'm still getting used to certain clothes and how they sit on my body. I wasn't fully happy with the red top but I didn't want my top half to be all black either. Just about everyone I asked though said it looked nice.

I drove to pick up Aerith for our date and then headed for the nearby college town. We had a very nice time just talking about our interests and life in general on the ride over. Something that makes me very happy and accepted with Aerith is she's always letting me know whenever she has special events or get togethers planned. That way, I can come be with her and her friends/family whenever this happens. It always feels so good whenever you know that somebody wants you there with them.

We arrived in town and went to dinner. We chose a sports bar styled restaurant. We had something for each of us on the TV. Aerith is a hockey fan (I at least enjoy watching it whenever it's on TV and get into it during playoffs time) and they had a game on the TV that she could easily see. You all know how much I enjoy wrestling and football and the TVs lined up in my eyesight had on the Rams-Panthers game as well as college wrestling. Turns out that Aerith, like me, wrestled in school. Something else we have in common. 😊

I wound up ordering their buffalo ranch chicken salad while Aerith got their Cajun styled chicken wrap. We both seemed to enjoy our orders. 😋

While we were waiting on the check, one of the waitresses came over and said, "I just have to say that I LOVE both of your outfits!" Best part: she wasn't even our waitress. Just a really nice person. Our waitress was super nice too. She was wearing a Packers jersey since they're her favorite team and they played that night (sorry for her loss).

Also, in breaking news, I used the women's room at the restaurant and the world didn't end. Amazing!

So, we then headed to the nearby movie theater, grabbed our snacks and got comfy. We saw the movie We Bury the Dead. A really good and thought provoking zombie film. Pretty artsy at times but still very interesting. Also, up until the zombies show up, it seems like something that could happen (the US Government are complete idiots, totally fuck up by dropping an experimental weapon on Tasmania and destroy their capital city. Just imagine the US Government doing something that stupid. Crazy, I know).

More importantly, this is where we got closer. Aerith had taken up our mutual armrest. I'm not sure if she was baiting me or not. Either way, I took it.

After a minute or so (felt like an hour in my head), I took a deep breath, placed my arm under hers and held her hand. She immediately responded by snuggling up closer to me, which I returned. We then took moments resting our heads on each other's shoulders and caressing each other's arm until we got uncomfortable (theater seats don't make it easy for cuddling) and readjusted.

Like the typical nerds that we are, we'd make snide comments to each other throughout the movie (not loud but in whispers) and comment on where we thought the movie was going. Aerith actually did an amazing job on predictions.

Afterwards, it was getting late and was time to drive Aerith home. We were quiet for a moment as I started driving and I just asked what had been on my mind since we set the date:

"So, do you want to make this Facebook official or do you want to wait a bit?" I followed this with a slight nervous laughter.

After I brief pause, Aerith responded: "I could handle that. "Facebook official" huh? What is this: the early 2000s?"

I responded with "hey, that was my era" lol.

And just like that, we were officially a couple. 😊

We didn't kiss goodnight but did share another wonderful hug and promised to talk to each other later. Aerith looked over her shoulder and smiled at me one last time before I pulled away from her driveway.

To say I'm overjoyed would be an understatement. I haven't stopped smiling the last two days now. I'm really looking forward to seeing where things go and how our relationship develops.

So, yes, I'm now off the market. I have a girlfriend. 🙂
