Winter Style 3-Day Weekend

Hello, my loves. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Mine was eventful but not as much as I thought it would be initially. Our area got tons of snow the past few days (in fact, it's currently snowing out my window at work as I type this).

Friday went as planned with my mom. We celebrated her birthday with lunch at an area restaurant. I decided on a top sirloin steak well done (I don't like my steak either still being pink or mooing at me) while she had steak tips mixed in gravy and peppers in a skillet. Delicious!

After running some errands, including shipping out presents to our family out of state, I made sure to pick her up a cake when I went grocery shopping. I bought a 1/8 sheet chocolate cake. Usually, we could handle a 1/4 sheet cake but between my weight loss and her doctors wanting her to be healthier as well, 1/8 sheet is all the sheet we can handle.

Thank you.

Anyway, we enjoyed some leftovers for dinner and then I served her some of her cake. It was also delicious.

Since her birthday (like mine) is super close to Christmas, we usually don't exchange gifts for our birthdays. I did make sure though that my daughter drew my mom a picture for her birthday. It warmed my mom's heart as it was a picture of her (my daughter even included her walking cane lol).

Friday night, I continued working on my room's DVD project. I successfully organized all of my DVDs into cases but I still have to organize my books before I put them onto the two bookshelves. I'll probably work on that either sometime this week or this weekend.

Saturday was mostly spent on personal grooming. I think I'll have to be more active in shaving my chest, stomach and legs. I'd let it go since my NYC trip and it was just enough stubble to be a major pain in shaving this time around. Oh well, live and learn.

Sunday I was catching up on John Cena's last match since I didn't watch it live. I can understand people being upset that he lost and how he lost (his whole thing was "Never Give Up" and he tapped to Gunther's sleeper).

However, growing up with wrestling, I also understand that the tradition is usually that the person retiring loses that last match. It's not a rule set in stone but that's what they all decided on in this case. Ultimately, the result will look better or worse depending on how they book Gunther from now on.

While I spent part of Sunday following football, I didn't watch much. This week was the start of the playoffs in my fantasy football league and I didn't want to stress myself out about every little play. Instead, I watched a bunch of episodes of Catfish (did you know they cancelled it last year? Super disappointing since I always found it entertaining) as well as the latest 30 for 30 about Stuart Scott (I cried whenever they talked about him trying to live as long as possible for his daughters. I totally understand that).

So, overall, a pretty fun, productive weekend...

...but that wasn't all that happened.

There was a reason I wanted to shave everywhere and why I missed Cena's last match.

I had a first date with someone on Saturday. 😊
