A Spooky Dad Mode Weekend

Hello, my loves. I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Mine was spent enjoying time with my daughter. We hit up several trunk or treat events in our area.

Her costume this year was titled Pumpkin Patch Ghoul. She had a cool but scary pumpkin mask, a jack-o'-lantern styled shirt, black pants and a black cape.

I went as Suburban Dad Michael Myers. I had a Michael Myers mask, a black robe with red trim, a plastic knife, and a coffee mug. Underneath that, I wore regular jeans, black shoes and a T-shirt that read "I'm not what's wrong. What's wrong is this world."

It was funny how people reacted to me. It was obvious that Willow was a child. Especially since I made sure she told everyone "thank you."

Since I was in character, I didn't talk while we were around other people. Only head movements and hand gestures (not the one fingered gesture either).

One place (a car dealership) realized immediately that I was an adult as all the salespeople kept handing me their business cards.

Meanwhile, at a different event in a city park, they all kept trying to give me candy and items as well. I had to keep shaking my head "no" and pointing to Willow's bag. So, she got twice as many treats as a result.

Once we had our fill on Saturday, we enjoyed some independent wrestling in our home town. It was Halloween themed but we decided not to dress up this time. It's pretty hard to see through the eye holes of our masks.

I was able to get second row seats since it was a small event. This was Willow's second wrestling show (I took her to an AEW Collision show a couple of years ago).

We enjoyed some wing dip and pizza as well as checking out everyone dressed up in different costumes. We didn't win any of the door prizes available or the 50/50 but that didn't matter. Nothing beats spending time with my daughter.

Saturday seemed to wear her out as she wasn't up to going out again on Sunday. So, we spent the day painting up her pumpkins or watching scary movies. A nice relaxing day.

The only sad part is we're getting to the end of my favorite month of the year. Plus, since my daughter will be with her mother on Halloween, I'll be watching the Halloween series on my own.

Maybe next year, I'll have her around and we can watch them together.

Or, you never know, maybe I'll have someone else with whom to watch them next year. 😉
