A Non-Lazy Lazy Weekend

Hello, my loves. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Mine was fairly busy despite that not being the initial plan.

This past weekend was to be the first one in a few months wherein I didn't go out of town, go shopping, go to a movie, go to a wrestling show or any event of any kind. I was so tired, mentally and emotionally, that I wanted to just relax and do nothing for two days.

What's the saying about best laid plans?

So, I got home Friday night and my mom mentioned that my one aunt would be visiting the next day for a few hours with us taking her out to lunch. Wanting to be personable, I was a gracious host and not only conversed with my aunt but drove both her and my mom out to lunch. I would've paid but my aunt was insistent (I did swap out her $10 tip with a $20 though, so I felt like I contributed).

Once I got home, I tried watching some college football but gave up at halftime when my favorite team decided to play like absolute garbage. So, I went with something more rewarding and enjoyable: five straight Hellraiser movies (the four theatrically released films and the recent Hulu sequel/reboot).

Sunday, I did once again have Griffin over to watch football. Since it was only him, my mom and myself, I dressed up as Trixie.

Since Griffin doesn't drive, I picked him up (as usual). When I got there, he presented me with a gift: a purple tumbler with skulls and my name on it! I love it SO much! I couldn't ask for a better friend. 😊

We enjoyed the whole day together watching the games. My mom did continuously call me by my masculine name instead of Trixie. However, I know she loves and accepts me. So, I'm just chalking it up to her old fashioned nature and having called me that name for over 38 years. She gets a pass.

On the way to and from my house, Griffin and I listened to the soundtrack from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I couldn't help but smile as he knew every word by heart. I also took great delight in delivering the "Janet" and "Oh Brad" lines during Dammit Janet.

Anyway, while it wasn't quite the lazy weekend that I originally planned, it was still fun and I (mostly) got to relax at home.

Sometimes, that's all you need.

Half the Person I Used to Be

People can have lots of different vices to help when they're stressed. Some drink, some smoke, some even do drugs (I don't judge anyone enjoying a little bit of Mother Earth's great green herb. Voting Day

While it's not one of the "big ones," such as the midterms or the Presidential elections, today is still voting day. You could say that elections like this are even more important since they cover local offices that can affect you everyday. I was born and raised as a Republican because of my parents and their background. However, I became more and more liberal in my thinking once I got to college and beyond. In fact, it became clear to me that my thought process growing up had usually been socially liberal anyway. I officially changed parties to Democrat in 2016. I refused to be associated with Drumpf and the way in which he'd bastardized my idea of the Grand Old Party. I don't have to tell you how upset I was over the results from last year. That orange faced goon won lots of support by actively campaigning against LGBTQ causes, especially the trans community. Winter Style 3-Day Weekend

Hello, my loves. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was eventful but not as much as I thought it would be initially. Our area got tons of snow the past few days (in fact, it's currently snowing out my window at work as I type this). Friday went as planned with my mom. We celebrated her birthday with lunch at an area restaurant. I decided on a top sirloin steak well done (I don't like my steak either still being pink or mooing at me) while she had steak tips mixed in gravy and peppers in a skillet. Delicious! After running some errands, including shipping out presents to our family out of state, I made sure to pick her up a cake when I went grocery shopping. I bought a 1/8 sheet chocolate cake. Usually, we could handle a 1/4 sheet cake but between my weight loss and her doctors wanting her to be healthier as well, 1/8 sheet is all the sheet we can handle. Thank you.
